Sarah's first opera, HILDEGARD, on the twelfth-century German Benedictine polymath Hildegard von Bingen -- an opera co-commissioned by Beth Morrison Projects and Aspen Music Festival, and for which Sarah also wrote the libretto -- received its rolling world premiere at LA Opera in November 2025 and at the Prototype Festival in New York City in January 2026. Both productions were met with sold-out audiences and critical acclaim, with the New York Times calling it "gorgeously mesmerizing...a marvel of abundant grace" and the Los Angeles Times calling it "a rapture."
